Day 17 - 20 February 2013

My final day in New Zealand. In the morning I had a last walk around Wellington harbour.

Stopped for a coffee from a mobile vendor and just before noon headed back to the hotel to check out.

I caught the Airport flyer bus from the city to Wellington Airport and then an Air New Zealand flight back to Auckland followed by another Air New Zealand flight this time to Vancouver, Canada. A 6 hour stopover at Vancouver airport and an Air Canada flight back to the UK arriving at Heathrow on 21 February.

New Zealand is a beautiful friendly country and I hope to return and visit the South Island at some point.

Day 16 - 19 February 2013

Today I caught the complimentary shuttle bus to Zealandia, a fully-fenced eco-sanctuary which aims to show how New Zealand looked before humans arrived.

A Takake, native to New Zealand and for a long time believed to be extinct but a few were found again in 1948 and a conservation programme launched to save the species. Still endangered but the numbers are growing.

Day 15 - 18 February 2013

I started the day with a guided walking tour.

A tour around the New Zealand Parliament.

Then a ferry over to Days Bay.

Day 14 - 17 February 2013

Today I did a 3 hour Wellington city sights and coastline tour with Hammonds. We started with a visit to New Zealand's parliament buildings and Beehive.

then a visit to Old St.Paul's Cathedral.

                  And finished with a cable car ride back to the city. I then went for a walk around Wellington harbour.
